Dave Ficke has gone on to something better.

We were recently notified that Dave Ficke (class of 1960) had passed on November 11. Dave had lived in Aurora, Colorado for many years. Days prior, He went out to get his mail but fell due to the snow. He was able to get back into his home onto the couch. A while later he went to the bathroom, but fell again laying on the floor for 24 hours before his nephew found him. The ambulance took him to the hospital. Tests revealed he broke most of his ribs and his arm. His breathing became labored and denied the intubation and succumbed the next day with family at his bedside. Dave had experienced some medical challenges. He overcame two malignancy’s, but the treatments left him very weak. His children are taking care of his estate. He will be cremated and his ashes scattered in the mountains with his family in attendance. He is survived by his brother Bob who is 2 years older than Dave. His brothers John and George also have passed in previous years.
R.I.P. Dave. Folks, we're losing too many, too often, especially for a rowdy bunch of (imaginationed) 18-year-olds. Winter came early to Colorado (in Denver in 1961 on Labor Day weekend there was 6" of snow, and it was as low as 24 degrees). Winter is coming most places. Be careful when the potential is to fall, and maybe break something.
