Our classmate Bill Powell passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023.  Bill had a stent installed following a heart attack the prior week.  He mentioned that his recovery was being complicated by instability of his oxygen levels following the stent procedure.  When a call was placed to his residence on Thursday, November 9th, a family member sadly disclosed that Bill had passed the previous Monday. 

Bill was an avid golfer.  But his interests were far and wide.  Periodically Bill would send humorous emails that would crack up even "The Thinker", a marble statue.  The best of Bil's emails were the sayings that were posted along a state highway in the little town of Indian Hills, Colorado, up in the mountains, such as "Attention thieves, please carry an ID so we can notify your next of kin". Those sayings were always  a subtle statement of "clever".  Another was his quoting of the quips by Senator John Kennedy, of the state of Louisiana.  Senator Kennedy is also known as the modern day Will Rogers.

When it came to our class reunions, Bill Powell was front and center to help with what ever he could do to make the process go more smoothly.  His presence will be sorely missed.
